Janice Danielle Roy
November 22, 1955 - June 17, 2010

Janice Danielle Roy was born November 22, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Barbara and (the late) Deacon Jasper K. Roy. She attended Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School; (1970), and graduated from St. Catherine of Siena High School (1974). She later decided to further her education at Malcolm X College and received an Associate’s Degree in Science and also at University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Science (2002). After graduation from UIC, she worked for many years as a Medical Lab Technologist (Microbiologist) at the University of Chicago Hospitals until her illness prevented her from continuing this work.
In 1982, Janice married Roy Fuller of Little Rock, Arkansas in Illinois and to this union three children were born Le Shawn, La Sheena and Le Von Fuller. Janice was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church for a few years and later joined New Faith Baptist Church in 2002. She then became a member in the South Suburban NAACP. She was a founder of the family-oriented Empowered Women Group and worked to help build confidence, self-awareness, and create trusting sisterhood in the family. In 2001, Janice remarried Theodore Connor and resided in Matteson, IL until 2006.
Janice was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved working in medical sciences, writing, golfing, motorcycle riding, listening to music, stepping (dancing) and mostly spending time with her family. Janice loved spending time with her three children and four granddaughters (Shian, Grace, Daya, and Vayla) until she was called home to glory on a Thursday afternoon on the 17th Of June in 2010.
Janice is survived by her mother, Barbara Roy; two aunts Ernestine Harper; Sara Rowlette of Toledo, Ohio; three children Le Shawn Fuller (Teela); La Sheena Fuller;
Le Von Fuller; four grandchildren, Shian and Daya Hendricks; Grace Fuller; and Vayla Fuller; 12 siblings, Richard Roy; Zaline Campbell (Horace) of Syracuse, NY; Xavier Roy (Nolanda); Von Roy (Lorraine) of Santa Ana, CA; Jerrold Roy of Hampton, VA; Juanita Pierre (Eddie); Anthony Roy; Estelle Carey (Robert) of Charlotte, NC; Theresa Roy of Bronx, NY; Joseph Roy of Madison, WI; and Julia Craig (Kenneth) of Medina, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
