Sharon Moody-Fowler

June 14, 1953 – February 19, 2008

The fourth child of eight children blessed to the union of Theodore and Ezra Ree Harrison, Sharon entered this life June 14, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois .

Ironically she was born at Cook County Hospital where she was later in life to be employed for over 20 years.  Prior to starting her career with Cook County Hospital, Sharon was a dedicated wife and mother to Stenesha and Steven, born to her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Steven Moody.  They enjoyed their brief family prior to his death in 1976.  Sharon then dedicated her life to the welfare of her children and was later blessed to meet and marry Lawrence Fowler.  Together they raised her children and created  the loving home Sharon was so proud of.  Larry passed on to his eternal blessing in 1996 but through her faith and love of her family Sharon continued to be the positive uplifting loving mother, sister and friend to the many she loved.

She was so proud and grateful for so many things in her life and felt especially blessed by her grandchildren.  It was obvious nothing gave her more joy than being “granny” to, according to her, the only grandchildren ever born in the world. But even with the grandchildren and her career she did find time to be the rock, support system and glue that held our family together.

Throughout her illness she bravely fought to maintain her spirit and determination to spend as much quality time as possible with those she loved and encouraged the same in everyone.  She joined Vernon Park Church of God and attended as much as possible, but even when she could not attend, her faith in God never wavered and she has been a shining example of what faith and love can do.

Sharon battled cancer with faith strength, dignity and concern for her family.  Through her love, spirit and determination she inspired love in return from everyone and will be forever missed.
