Gloria Denise Wilder known to her friends and family as “Niece” was the eighth of nine children. She was the born March 3rd, 1955 to George and Anna Mae Wilder, Sr. in Chicago Heights, IL. She was reared by Duluther and Gloria Martin of Chicago Heights.

Niece attended Bloom Township public school system and graduated in 1973 from Bloom Township High School. She continued her education and attended Prairie State College.

Gloria was employed 24 years with J. L. Prescott of South Holland as a forklift operator until the company closed. She continued her career with Trinity Services in Joliet, IL as a patient care representative. Gloria also worked as a dietician for St. James Manor in Crete, IL. until her health failed.

Gloria confessed her faith in Christ at a very early age at St. Bethel Baptist Church. She later was united with Victory Christian Assembly Church in Glenwood, IL. Later, she moved her membership to Calvary M.B. Church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. A. William Staten Sr. She served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board and remained dedicated even when she wasn’t feeling her best.

She had a passion for shopping and communicating with her family and friends via telephone. She was a woman of elegance it showed through her dress and hair.

Gloria fought a good fight. God saw that she was tired so on Thursday, October 26th at 10:22 p.m. at St. James Hospital He stood beside her and closed those beautiful eyes and said, “peace be thine”. She was welcomed into glory by heaven’s host as she reunited with her parents; George Wilder Sr., Duluther and Gloria Martin, two sisters; Arlena Roby and Paula McCrea, as well as one brother; George Wilder Jr.

She left celebrating her life and cherishing fond memories two daughters; Tinish (David) Mills of Los Angeles CA. and Derrica (Leonard) Chambers of Matteson, IL. seven grandchildren; Davi, Leonardo, DeAngelo, Darrion, LeNay, Aallyah, and Skylar, her mother; Annie Mae Wilder of Chicago Heights, IL., six siblings; Marsha (Autry) Cheetham  and Ronald (Dorothy) Wilder of Mansfield, OH., Sherian (James) Johnson of Glenwood, IL., Deborah Keyes of Park Forest, IL., Imogene Thompson and Donald Wilder of Chicago Heights, IL., one uncle; Rev Aaron (Deloris) Miller of Chicago Heights, IL., two special friends; Samella Simmons and Linda Willingham, two god-children; Robert Johnson and Donya Wright, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
